Our Recent Projects

Switch gear replacement and new DB

We received an enquiry to install a new power supply to a compressor and upgrade existing switch gear from an old bus bar section that was coupled to switch fuses with BS88 fuses as a form of protection and over current.

We designed and installed a new 250A panel board utilising the existing supply cable.

We installed  an outgoing 100A supply to the compressor protected with BS 60947-2MCCB from the panel board and we also installed a 125A DB to supply small power and lighting in the compressor house with plenty of spare capacity in case of expansion.

All of the old switch gear was removed and recycled.

Cooling tower speed upgrade

One of our customers required new Variable Speed Drives fitting in place of old Ralspeed soft start Unit with bypass contactors that were controlling the speed of their Cooling Tower Motors.

We removed all of the redundant power wiring and ancillaries and control wiring fitted the new Variable Speed Drive within the panel. We modified the panel door by cutting an aperture to allow the door to close over the VSD due to the physical size of it. A bespoke stainless steel surround plate was fitted to ensure a perfect finish.

The remaining control and power cabling was reconnected to the new inverter and data cabling installed to monitor speed, frequency and pressure.

The whole installation was then commissioned without fault.

Production/Engineering Manager, Volcke Aerosol Connection

A&L Electrical Solutions were recommended to me by my husband who had dealt with Gareth and Dave  previously.

I urgently needed 12 lamp post light fittings replaced in our car park as it was winter and the car park was becoming hazardous in the evenings and early mornings due to a lack of light.

Dave turned a very competitive quote around for me and completed the works without any issues within a week of coming out to scope the job.

The job was performed in a very professional manner and the new LED flood light fittings look great.
